Dr. Michael Hemphill


Dr. Michael Hemphill Dr. Michael Hemphill is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He did his residency training in pediatrics, then neurology, at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, where he also served as Assistant Professor of Neurology. He was a Rockefeller Fellow at Harvard University, where he studied medical ethics, and he received a Master of Business Administration degree from Emory University.

In 1981, Dr. Hemphill began his practice of neurology in Savannah with this group. He is an active member of the medical staff at all three Savannah hospitals. In addition, he holds a university appointment at the Medical College of Georgia as an Associate Clinical Professor of Neurology. Dr. Hemphill is board certified in neurology with special competence in child neurology and in pediatrics. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology. He has been listed in Best Doctors in the Southeast and Best Doctors in America, and he is a recipient of the Best Teacher Award presented by Memorial Health University Medical Center Department of Family Practice. He has presented numerous lectures throughout the country on migraine, epilepsy, Huntington's disease, multiple sclerosis, and attention deficit disorder. He has authored many articles and is actively involved in clinical research.
