Dr. Herbert F. Sanders

Dr. Herbert F. Sanders attended the University of Virginia College of Arts & Sciences in 1963. Following
medical school in 1968 he was an intern at the University of Missouri Medical Center and then began
neurosurgery training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The training was interrupted by the
United States Navy and in 1972 Dr. Sanders was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Commander. Subsequently,
he finished neurology training at Vanderbilt University in 1976. Dr. Sanders is certified by the American
Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Sleep medicine. He is actively involved in
the resident teaching program at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. Dr. Sanders is the
widower of Susan Sanders, has two children and 5 grand children.
