Dr. Jessica Carter is a graduate of College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine where she received a B.A. in Human Ecology. She graduated from the Medical University of Ohio at Toledo where she received an M.D. in 2003. She then completed her Neurology Residency at Emory University Hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia in 2007. She went on to complete a fellowship in Neurophysiology at Emory University in 2008 which focused on epilepsy and neuromuscular diseases with proficiency in reading EEG's and performing EMG's. She is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Carter has a special interest in women's issues in Neurology as well as a special interest in Epilepsy. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, she is moving to Savannah from Atlanta with her son and husband.
